These two teams have not played this season, but they split the two games last year, with the visitors winning both.

Indiana is sixth in points per game (115.7) and is 14th in three-point shooting (36.0%). They had no answers in this game, as the five starters shot a combined 8-33 from three-point range, while the bench shot just 1-9. The Clippers blasted Indiana on the glass, recording 44 defensive rebounds and 62 total boards.

The Lakers outgun the Spurs.

Los Angeles won their fifth game in a row, and they now return home, where they are 5-5 but have won their previous three.
“We gave up a lot in transition, turned the ball over a lot of times, couldn’t grab a defensive rebound,” Lakers coach Darvin Ham said. “But, once again, being able to score the ball covers up for a lot of mistakes.”

LeBron James had a season-high 39 points and 11 rebounds. James shot 11-21 from the field, including 7-12 from beyond the arc. He made all ten of his free throws. Dennis Schroder led the team with 21 points and six assists. The Lakers have moved up to fifth in free-throw percentage (81.1%) and seventh in rebounding. Patrick Beverly and Cole Swider will be out for Los Angeles. Anthony Davis did not play on Saturday and will be evaluated at game time.

NBA Game Recap: Pacers vs. Lakers – November 28, 2022

Rookie Andrew Nembhard sank a 3-pointer at the buzzer as the Indiana Pacers recovered from a 17-point deficit in the fourth quarter to defeat the Los Angeles Lakers 116-115 on Monday night.

Tyrese Haliburton scored 24 points and converted the game-tying layup with 39 seconds remaining for the Pacers, who trailed 101-84 early in the fourth quarter. With 20.9 seconds remaining, LeBron James made a one-handed floater, and Myles Turner missed an accompanying 3-point effort for Indiana โ€” but Haliburton retrieved the long rebound and finally found Nembhard alone on the perimeter with a crosscourt pass.

The Gonzaga second-round selection from Canada hit his fourth 3-pointer of the game over James’ outstretched palm. The shot stunned the Los Angeles crowd and sparked a wild on-court celebration that featured Pacers president of basketball operations Kevin Pritchard.

“I think you keep cool because you train out at the gym for such kinds of situations,” Nembhard remarked. “You just have to bring your confidence, and when it comes, you just have to stand up for the team.” I believe it was a fantastic team victory. We got a lot of contributions from a lot of folks, and it was just my turn to stand up at that point.

The Pacers escaped their first back-to-back defeats since October thanks to 14 assists from Haliburton and 23 points from freshman Bennedict Mathurin.

“It’s amazing to be able to hang in, maintain your eyes on the hoop, and let it go over a 6-9, 6-10 man,” Pacers coach Rick Carlisle said. “It’s just a happy time for everybody to enjoy when you have success like today, when you overcome some difficulties and find a solution.”

Anthony Davis had 25 points and 13 rebounds for the Lakers, who were on their way to their sixth win in seven games before their defense and ball movement crumbled late. After the Pacers missed three free shots, Davis

Russell Westbrook scored 17 of his 24 points in the second half, energizing a crowd that looked to be seeing a game-changing evening for the slow-starting Lakers โ€” until Indiana closed with a 20-8 run in the disastrous last five minutes.

“I wish we had been a lot more aggressive, kept up the tempo, stayed organized, and kept moving the ball,” Lakers coach Darvin Ham said. “And that is my fault.”
